As purchaser you will work closely with and in direct report to the Purchasing Manager, whom you will assist in strategic sourcing as well as in process improvement, system upgrades and automation activities.

Job description

  • Responsible for strategic sourcing with strong focus on total cost optimization.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and update of supplier’s data for raw materials, including certifications and legal compliance documents.
  • Follow-up market trends and discuss with internal stakeholders from purchasing, production and sales.
  • Negotiate with existing and new suppliers on pricing and related procurement conditions.
  • Support and track cost reduction initiatives and discuss with internal stakeholders, in different production sites, to validate and implement cost savings.
  • Follow up on all open inquiries of the suppliers and internal material requests through RFIs and RFQs.
  • Follow commercial opportunities and evaluate these within the team.
  • Support on projects innovation, R&D and Sustainability.
  • Manage supplier performance reports and adapt Drylock Technologies’ vendor strategy.
  • Update and approve Supplier Price lists based on contractual agreed terms.

Profile

  • You have a Masters’ degree, preferably in economics, engineering or any other relevant domain.
  • A first work experience or internship in procurement is a plus.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
  • You have a very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook).
  • You are willing to work from our HQ in Zele (9240).
  • You have a strong analytical mindset, can distinct between main items and others, and are not overly pressure-sensitive.
  • You are eager to learn and have an interest to learn more about ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a definite plus.
  • You have a teamwork mindset and take initiatives.
  • You want to become a skilled negotiator.
  • You are not afraid to take on responsibilities and are familiar with strategic thinking and innovation.
  • You are hands-on and want to grow in an international environment.
  • You are a no-nonsense, dynamic and result-driven person, with passion for the job and an eye for improvements.
